Modeling a Plunger in 3D Studio MAX

by Mike Nuts on Jan.12, 2006, under Tutorials

This video tutorial shows various quick modeling techniques including Line spline shapes, Lathe modifier, Smooth modifier, Editable Poly, Snap to grid, and more, to create a plunger.

3D Plunger Since every step is shown in the video, from an empty scene to a rendered version, this tutorial is very suitable for beginners who know absolutely nothing about 3D Studio MAX yet. While normally you would want to use shortkeys for certain tasks, I’ve used the menu options to clearly show which option is used. A ‘Right-Click’ sign will be displayed whenever it isn’t obvious you need to use the right mouse button instead of the left.

Download the tutorial in .WMV
(Windows Media Player) format in a ZIP file to your computer (right-click download link and choose Save As).
