MicroVisions 4, auction is live

The fourth annual MicroVisions auction is up and running. All proceeds go to the Society of Illustrators student scholarship fund.


These are 5×7 paintings created by the field’s leading illustrators and comic book artists.  They are kept small so that the artist have fun doing them and to make them affordable by casual collectors.

3DValley Featured 2D Artist interview of May 2009 - Deborah Valentine. Deborah is an artist from the US. She has been interested in art from a very young age and studied at the California College of Art. She has worked many years as a tattoo artist and is well known on the internet for her contribution to many ExquisiteCorpses and her managing the TheExquisiteCorpse club on DeviantART. Her favorite tool is still the pencil although she do use photoshop to prepare her work for posting it online. He studied Graphic Design at the California State University and became a full time graphic designer after graduation. His passion however is painting and he is fortunate enough to be able to spend his day doing what he loves most. He paints with acrylics on both wood and masonite and shows his work in various galleries in the US. 3DValley Featured 2D Artist for August 2008 - Anna Greaves. Anna is an artist from the UK but currently lives in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Besides a very talented painter she is also a toymaker, card maker, improviser, musician, cook, & housewife :) She loves all things creative. She uses canvas and oils for her paintings. Felt, ribbon and beads for her toys. The only software she use is Adobe Photoshop and that is only for editing the levels on the photographs of her finished work. Still the pencil remains his favorite tool. He has won various awards with his work and is also published in “Digital art for the 21st Century” and “Metamorphosis”.

Henri is an artist from Cape Town, South Africa and although he has studied graphic design for three years, he now works as an independent - mostly - traditional artist. In 2001 he published his own comic book “Venge” and currently he is focusing on some surreal work and a two meter long painting of the Silver Surfer.
