Jason grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in social psychology and a minor in philosophy. He started with 3D as a hobby about six years ago but it soon turned into a passion and today he is making a living of it. 3DValley Featured 3D Artist of November & December 2008 - Jean Simard. Jean is a 3D artist from Montreal, Canada. He mostly works with 3dsmax but also uses many other software programs. At 37 he decided to change his career and went back to school at the Academy of Art and Design in Montreal to follow a two years course by night and weekend. He has worked in several areas of the industry including industrial modeling, gaming, architecture and product visualization. 3D Valley Featured 3D Artist of October 2008 - Benoit Patterlini or maybe for you all better known as Noart. Benoit is a self taught artist who began with drawing at the age of seven. He studied architecture and today he works as a freelance artist in Paris, France. His two main objectives are working as a 3D graphic designer for prominent architects in Paris, such as Claude Vasconi and Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The second is creating digital art projects which are focused on science fiction. His style is a mix between US comic strips (Marvel heroes), science fiction movie (Star Wars) and contemporary Architecture. 3D Valley Featured 3D Artist of May 2008 - Toni Bratincevic. Toni is an artist from Croatia and currently lives with his wife in California, US. After seeing some great movies with 3D around 1996 he started creating 3D images himself. He started out with 3D Studio 2.0, POVRay and used Maya for several years. During day time he works in a small print company and in his free time he enjoys creating art with mainly Bryce 6 but also works with Poser, Carrara, Wings 3D, and Photoshop to make his images. He has tried out many various mediums but once he got introduced to the computer, back in 2002, he was hooked and has been a pixel pusher ever since. 3D Valley Featured 3D Artist of February 2008 - Theuns van Onselen or for you all probably better known as Crusader. Theuns is an artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. He writes short sci-fi stories and was interested in military stuff from a young age. These two subjects also inspire him most for creating his 3D images. The sci-fi images mostly belong to a graphic novel he writes or to one of the many independent game projects he contributes too. 3D Valley Featured 3D Artist of January 2008 - Michael Sormann. Michael is an CG artist from Austria who after 10 years working in the games industry decided to try it as a freelance 3D artist. The last several years he worked in his spare time on “Theme Planet” a short film with Pink, Elephant and the Mad Constructor as leading characters.
