Digital Art Master volume I |
I had the pleasure of receiving a copy of Digital Art Masters volume 1 from 3DTotal.com and want to share my review with you.
Digital Art Masters is truly a must-have for the ever-learning CG artist. Although it does not present you with detailed how-to information, you can pick up more from this book than any huge stack of tutorials. The artists explain the process of creating their artwork from concept to post-production in a very concise manner. And since every artist has his or her own preferences and methods for modeling, lighting, and rendering and the overall process, it contains a divers wealth of information answering the question that comes to mind when you look at these beautiful images: 'How do they do it?'
Even though every 2D and 3D artists will likely enjoy this book, one of the things that makes it so useful for beginners is that it removes some of the mystery surrounding certain techniques. Such as lighting for example - is amazing how one or two well-placed lights can make an image come to life. A successful image requires more than skills with a particular computer product, and this book is packed with those tips that can help you turn a concept into an appealing piece of art. Even though you won't find step-by-step instruction for your favorite product, you will be applying the knowledge you gain from this book in your own work, probably even before you finished the book.
