Q1.
Christa: Can you
tell us a bit about yourself: Who are you and what do you do in
your daily life?
Adrian: I am 30 years old, and
live in Oradea, Romania. I graduated the university in computer
science so; this is my field of work. But is nothing related to
3D (unfortunately). It is something database related. My daily work
is boring but not so stressful, so I have some time for 3D modeling,
but just as a hobby, and freelancing sometimes. Beside that I like
to practice sports, especially fitness because it’s not fixed
to an hour, and I can get there when I have free time.
Q2.
Christa: When did you first notice you had artistic talent?
Adrian: Two years
ago, I saw for the first time what 3D programs are capable of doing,
and 3D Studio Max was more familiar to me. So I started to learn
and do some and after that the results came. I was more attracted
in visual art than programming and databases, so for me is a good
relaxing method too.
Q3.
Christa: Do you have traditional art experience?
Adrian: No, I don’t have
any traditional art experience.
Q4.
Christa: Which software packages do you use for your artwork?
Adrian: I am using 3D Studio Max
for my artwork, and some Photoshop for color balancing if needed.
But I also have experience with Bryce, and Terragen in making landscapes.

Q5.
Christa: Can you tell us a bit of the way you work on your
art?
Adrian: Usually when I start to
work on a model I try to get as many reference images as possible,
to cover all angles. After that, I try to come as close as possible
to that. My latest experience was in modeling cars, which I started
with two months ago, after reading lots of tutorials. My way of
modeling a car is, from a box, a sliced-one to be more specific,
and adding symmetry, and cutting, moving vertexes to follow the
blueprints. After I am satisfied with that, I am starting to add
more details, separating roof, hood, windows, and making the details
headlight, backlights, interior. Then the wheels, windshield wipers
and all that are necessary. After that comes the texturing and lighting.
Q6.
Christa: What and/or who inspires you?
Adrian: I am inspired by what
seems nice to me, and try to reproduce that. I'm also inspired from
many great 3D works out there. I have many models in my gallery;
some where created just for practice, to see if I can do it, others
I have really liked.
Q7.
Christa: Do you have a favorite piece of your own artwork
and if so, why?
Adrian: My favorite piece of artwork
is Maxbreeze, that was created after a bottle of aftershave from
home, just for fun, but it came out a pretty realistic one in my
opinion. Of course, I would not give my latest car for this (Toyota
Celica).

Q8.
Christa: What is your goal as an artist?
Adrian: My goal as an artist is
to raise my level of 3D knowledge, and probably get some work related
to this. I really enjoy making that, but also know that I must continually
study in that because I have much to learn from others.
Q9.
Christa: Besides 3D Valley, which other CG sites do you
visit regularly?
Adrian: My most visited websites
beside 3D Valley are: 3Dbuzz.com,
CGtalk.com,
Renderosity.com,
and
3dtotal.com.
Q10.
Christa: Do you have any tips for the artists who admire
your work?
Adrian: Just have patience and
keep trying. Read a lot of tutorials, and keep doing things. Practice
makes the master.
