I think he is slightly hesitant because he is afraid of the moths! Another way i saw it is that he was about to put the plug in, but ran out of power :(

My favourite part is that he's crouching slightly, kind of like he's bracing himself for it. Maybe he knows that's where the plug belongs, but not exactly what's going to happen when he puts it in!
