No real story, Lucifer is just one of a set of gothic images based on mythical characters, I guess they also are a celebration of the artist that created the sculptures, I hope my images have taken them beyond their original conception.

In Hebrew texts 'lucifer', from Latin term "lucem ferre, bearer of light, does not exist as Latin did not exist. Instead "heleyl, ben shachar", literally translated as "shining one, son of the dawn" is used, meaning the planet Venus when it appears as a morning star.

It is the Hebrew expression used to describe the Babylonian king before his death. Scholars authorised by King James I did not use original Hebrew texts to translate the Bible but used versions translated by St. Jerome in the 4th Century.

Latin at the time of St. Jerome's translation, "lucifer" actually meant Venus as a morning star. Over time lucifer the morning star became a disobedient angel cast out of heaven to rule Hell for eternity.

In Christian tradition Lucifer is now the same as Satan, the Devil, and --- ironically --- the Prince of Darkness. The early Bible writers did not believe in or teach the concept of Satan.
